Linton Crystal Technologies COO Takes Part in Defense Production Act Solar Roundtable

On Wednesday, August 24, 2022, Todd Barnum, President and COO of Linton Crystal Technologies, participated in the “Defense Production Act Roundtable: Solar Photovoltaic Supply Chain & Deployment,” convened by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) with support from the White House Climate Policy Office.

The intent of the roundtable, one of several the DOE will convene, was to gather stakeholder input on how the department can best implement a new Defense Production Act (DPA) authority in the event DPA funding is made available. The DOE is gathering insights as to how to accelerate domestic manufacturing and adoption of key clean energy technologies, including solar photovoltaic components, to benefit workers and communities. Barnum will be among the industry leaders expressing their needs, ideas and concerns regarding domestic solar PV production.

“I look forward to the opportunity to share my insights and information and collaborate with others in the Solar PV industry with the goal of bringing a very significant portion of that supply chain back to U.S. soil and revitalizing the workforce,” said Barnum prior to participating.

Linton is the world leader in the design, development and manufacture of equipment for producing monocrystalline ingots for the solar and semiconductor industries. The company specializes in silicon and produces equipment for materials such as germanium and gallium arsenide. They also provide technical support, process engineering support and replacement parts to help clients get businesses off the ground, improve productivity and continue to innovate. Linton has been the exclusive owner of Kayex technology since 2013.
