Patent-Pending Technology and Software Upgrade to be Introduced at SEMICON West 2019

Rochester, NY—Linton Crystal Technologies (LCT) will introduce its patent-pending active cleaning vacuum system for silicon crystal growers at SEMICON West, from July 9 through 11 in San Francisco, California. Linton also will introduce its latest melt-gap measurement and control software, due to be released shortly after the show. Both technologies come standard on LCT’s newest Czochralski (CZ) process crystal grower, the KX320/300MCZR, and can be supplied as retrofits to existing systems. LCT representatives will be at booth #5245 in the North Hall of the Moscone Center.

Linton Crystal Technologies is the world leader in the design, development and manufacture of equipment for producing monocrystalline ingots for the semiconductor and solar industries. The company specializes in silicon and produces equipment for materials such as germanium and gallium arsenide.

“The technologies we’re introducing at SEMICON West are part of our commitment to providing solutions that help customers remain profitable in what is a changing industry landscape,” says Todd Barnum, COO of Linton Crystal Technologies. “We have seen wafer price drops in the past and realize how critical it is for customers in the semiconductor industry to control operating costs. LCT understands we bring the greatest value to customers if they can remain profitable operating our machines, even in the face of a drastic wafer price reduction.”

To address this, Linton has designed the KX320/300MCZR 300 mm system to be more automated (use less manpower), more efficient (less Argon and less power), be highly reliable (more operational up-time with greater yields) and deliver a high-quality end product that will be profitable even at the lowest wafer price points. It also continually designs retrofits and upgrades that enable customers to improve existing systems without replacing their whole grower floor at once.
