Linton Crystal Technologies welcomes Haoyang Yan as its newest mechanical engineer. Linton is a world leader in the development and manufacture of equipment for producing monocrystalline ingots. Yan joins the company’s engineering team in Rochester, N.Y., which works to tailor Linton’s equipment to each customer’s individual specifications. They also proactively design and develop hardware and accessories for Linton’s growers to help customers increase efficiency and productivity.
“Yan’s industrial mechanical development and design expertise, as well as his experience with manufacturing plant operations in Asia, made him a particularly good fit for Linton,” explains John Reese, mechanical engineering manager for Linton. “He is well-suited to work with our customers around the world and with our partners in our Research and Development Center in China.”
Prior to joining Linton, Yan served as a mechanical project engineer for De Amertek Corporation, Inc., in Lombard, Illinois. Among the projects he designed in his more than five years there were automotive thick-film products, mechanical parts, fixtures and testers for microelectronics products. He also worked with technical teams and suppliers both domestically and overseas in Asia.
“Linton is a promising company focusing on a fast-growing industry. Although moving to Rochester, a new place, is a big challenge, it’s also a great opportunity and exciting for me,” says Yan. “I believe I can make good use of my knowledge and contribute to the company.”
Yan earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Dalian Jiaotong University Information Technology Institute (Dalian, China) and a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology (Chicago, IL).
