Linton Crystal Technologies Representatives Meet with Prime Minister of Vietnam

On May 16, representatives from Linton Crystal Technologies met with the Prime Minister of Vietnam, Phạm Minh Chính, at the New York Stock Exchange, and presented him with a 300mm silicon wafer to symbolize Vietnam’s entry into the ingot to wafer space. Headquartered in Rochester, New York, LCT is the world leader in the design, development and manufacture of Czochralski (CZ) silicon furnaces for production of monocrystalline silicon ingots for the semiconductor and solar industries. The Prime Minister also was present for the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Linton and Vietnamese manufacturer Chan May LNG JSC.

“This represents a tremendous opportunity for Linton, as it’s a first step in expanding the global semiconductor supply chain,” says Todd Barnum, president and CEO of Linton.

Per the memorandum, Linton will supply equipment, technology, service and long-term support to Vietnamese customer, Chan May LNG JSC., for a proposed 300mm semiconductor wafer plant in Thua Thien Hue Province, Vietnam. This project will enable Vietnam to launch itself into the global semiconductor supply chain by providing wafers to the domestic Vietnamese semiconductor industry, and to distribute wafers and silicon material globally.

Linton is the world leader in the design, development and manufacture of equipment for producing monocrystalline ingots for the solar and semiconductor industries. The company specializes in silicon and produces equipment for materials such as germanium and gallium arsenide. They also provide technical support, process engineering support and replacement parts to help clients get businesses off the ground, improve productivity and continue to innovate.
